A NEW BBC series is looking for families with a sense of adventure to step back in time.
TV producers are looking to re-create a traditional Welsh fishing community in 1906, and want families who would like to experience this unique way of life for a month.
Based on the rugged coastline of North Wales, it will be an immersive experience, where participants will live and work as our fishing ancestors did.
They will have to set up home in simple fisherman's cottages, wear the clothes, earn a living from the coast and endure the best and worst the sea has to throw at them.
“We’re looking for families who want to step out of the modern world and their comfort zones, to take on a new adventure that will be challenging and rewarding," said producers.
Life will be tough but exhilarating and governed by the tides and weather.
Participants will fish from traditional sailing boats, collect shellfish along the shoreline, forage for seaweed and wild herbs and sell their wares to fishmongers, creating a real economy.
Knowledge of fishing or sailing is not necessary but a willingness to tackle a challenge is a must, and those with family or historical links to the industry are especially welcome.
